Composition of heat protection films
Adhesive sun protection films consist of 2 layers of vacuum metallized polyester , an adhesive and a protective film that is removed during installation. They are scratch resistant.

Solar factor
The solar factor (G) of a glass is the ratio of the total energy entering a room through the glass to the incident solar energy. This total energy is the sum of the solar energy that enters through direct transmission and the energy transferred from the glass to the internal environment as a result of its heating by energy absorption .

Greenhouse effect
Solar energy entering a room through glass is absorbed by objects and internal walls which, as they heat up, re-emit thermal radiation mainly in the far infrared range (above 5 μm). Glass, even transparent glass, is practically opaque to radiation with a wavelength greater than 5μm. The solar energy that enters through the glass is therefore trapped in the room , which tends to heat up: this is the "greenhouse effect" which can be perceived, for example, in a car parked in full sun with the windows closed.

How to install a Reflectiv infrared film?

The surface where the film will be applied must be clean of any trace of dust, grease or other impurities. It is important to note that some materials, such as polycarbonate, may cause the formation of bubbles, making it advisable to carry out a preventive compatibility test.

Tools needed for installation include: a water sprayer, a scraper, a cutter, tape, a putty knife, a float and paper towels.

  1. Clean the glass surface carefully;
  2. First cut the film to the desired dimensions;
  3. Apply two pieces of tape to one corner of the film to make handling easier;
  4. Spray the window with water and position the film, holding the adhesive side towards you;
  5. Remove the protective film;
  6. Abundantly moisten the adhesive side of the film;
  7. Turn the film over and apply the adhesive side to the glass surface;
  8. Spray the film to facilitate the sliding of the squeegee on the glass;
  9. Smooth with the spatula to eliminate air bubbles and excess water;
  10. Trim the excess edges using the cutter;
  11. Model again on the glass and clean the edges for a perfect finish.
