The electromagnets of the Modena blacksmith
Why do many condominiums in Modena have electromagnets? In the 1960s in Modena there was a locksmith who wanted to improve the locking of condominium doors. In fact, many condominium owners complained about the continuous maintenance costs. One day the blacksmith arrived with a magnet that would solve that annoying problem. Word of mouth did the rest and to this day Modena maintains this primacy, obviously no longer with simple magnets, but with modern and more effective electromagnets.
