Reflectiv SOL 102 solar film offers 79% solar protection and is specifically designed for external installation on glass windows. This film is ideal for mitigating heat and solar glare, bringing a significant improvement in comfort in environments exposed to direct sunlight. Its external application effectively contributes to energy saving, especially when using air conditioning.
Composition and Durability
Reflectiv SOL 102 solar films are composed of two layers of vacuum metallized polyester, a strong adhesive and a protective film that is removable during installation. They are also designed to be scratch resistant, ensuring durability and quality over time.
Solar Factor and Greenhouse Effect
The solar factor (G) indicates the ratio between the total energy that penetrates an environment through the glass and the incident solar energy. This energy includes both the direct transmission of sunlight and the heat generated by the energy absorption of the glazing. The greenhouse effect occurs when solar energy, entering through glass, is absorbed by internal objects and walls which, once heated, emit thermal radiation. Glass, even if transparent, blocks radiation at wavelengths greater than 5μm, thus retaining heat within the environment. This phenomenon is especially noticeable in enclosed spaces such as a car parked in the sun with the windows closed.
